Arrow Seed was established in Broken Bow, Nebraska in 1946. The company has been under the same family ownership since 1954. Facilities include a 30,000 square foot seed conditioning and distribution center opened in 1987. While forage legumes, grasses and sorghums are still a major part of the business, related lines of turf grasses, turf fertilizer, and legume inoculants have become increasingly important to the company and its customers .

Arrow Seed conditions and packages seeds that are indigenous to Nebraska and purchases seed from established companies in other states of those species that cannot be produced economically in Nebraska. As many as 32 different seed species have been conditioned through company facilities in a year’s time.

Products are provided to over 150 dealers in the Arrow Seed service area, which includes the central two-thirds of Nebraska as well as adjacent counties in South Dakota. Other customers include government agencies, golf courses, landscape contractors, and other seed companies.
Arrow Seed is an independent supplier of plant genetic material. Cultivars are selected from many breeding programs for performance and adaptation to the Central Plains region. The seeds and other products marketed are selected after a thorough and careful screening and evaluation process.

Arrow Seed is responsive. Timely availability of products is critical to ag producers. Distribution is strategically located in the center of the service area. Arrow Seed can react quickly to seasonal changes in crop needs. Storage facilities provide adequate space for ample inventories and the company owned truck fleet allows for fast deliveries.

Arrow Seed has a knowledgeable staff that lives and works in an agriculturally dependent community and has a good understanding of customers needs.

Arrow Seed’s retail store, offices warehousing, and seed conditioning facilities are located in Broken Bow Nebraska. Arrow Seed offers bulk seed as well as bagged seed. An up to date seed cleaning plant efficiently cleans seed crops of legumes, small grains, grasses, sorghums, and millet. The material handling systems prevent contamination. Equipment is in place to utilize all properties of seed in conditioning a product to meet the high standards necessary to carry the ARROW SEED tag.
