Alfalfa Seed — Since
founded, Arrow Seed has been the leading independent supplier of alfalfa
seeds in the region. The company continues to evaluate
and select new public and private varieties. Selections are made for
multi-pest resistance, yield, and hay quality. Introduced Hybrid alfalfa
in 2002.
Forage Seed — Arrow
Seed markets a full line of summer annual forage seed including hybrid
forage sorghums, millet, sudans and sorghum-sudan crosses. Products are
produced under contract by companies in Texas and Kansas to the same strict
quality standards of other Arrow seeds. Arrow Seed was one of the first
companies to promote BMR forages.
Conservation - Grasses — Arrow Seed
has been a producer and conditioner of conservation grasses for over 40 years.
The company presently maintains production fields with contract growers for ten
different native and introduced grass species. In recent years wildflowers were
added to the seed products produced.
Arrow Seed also provides seed for irrigated or improved dryland pastures.
Seed is available in Arrow brand mixes or customized for the customer’s
site and needs.
Small Grains — Arrow
Seed has long been a leader in producing and marketing small grains with an emphasis
on hard red winter wheat. This position of leadership has been earned through
extra care and professionalism in conditioning and marketing the latest improved
varieties of certified small grains. Products include Agripro and public wheat
varieties, seed oats, and forage small grains.
Multi-Line Seed — This includes
turf grasses, forage turnips and other seeds requested by farmers in this region.

Turf Products — Arrow Seed
has a full line of turf products for professional turf managers including golf
courses, municipalities, and lawn care providers as well as the homeowner market.
Turf mixtures are based on cultivar adaptability and performance in the Great
Plains. Arrow Seed is associated with two other companies and has an agreement
with the University of Nebraska for research and development of improved
turf buffalograss seed.
Legume Inoculants — Producers
are aware that legume performance is enhanced when the proper bacteria are present
in the soil to help the plants such as soybeans produce their own nitrogen. Arrow
Seed is the largest distributor of legume inoculants in Nebraska.
Planter Box Seed Treatments — Soil
borne insects and diseases can affect early seedling establishment and plant
development. Arrow Seed distributes products that can be applied in the planter
box to reduce this production risk.
Forage and Hay Inoculants and Preservatives — Products
exist today that enable producers to bale hay sooner after cutting and improve
the nutritional value of the hay. Silage preservatives speed up the
fermentation process to reduce spoilage, enhancing and preserving the
nutritional value of the silage crop.
Information on how to use products is just as important as the products
themselves. Information is passed on to dealers, then to producers
using product guides as well as dealer and producer meetings.
