Journey 204 Hybrid Alfalfa

"Journey 204 was very good for yield in dry weather. We have taken four good cuttings of alfalfa for two years. It yields better than the other alfalfa varieties that we have in production." -Warren Kennedy, Sutherland, NE

" I planted Journey 204 on a 25 acre sub-irrigated field. Three good cuttings were taken and could have had a fourth. The bales were heavier because of the fine stems and leaves. A rancher called and wanted a load of 1st of 2nd cutting hay. 'If it isn't good hay, I will send it back', he said. When he got the hay, he called back and said, 'You must have made a mistake, because it looked 3rd cut hay.' He ended up buying the entire field of hay." -Darold Miller, Maxwell, NE

" Journey 204 started growth more quickly in the spring than other varieties and the re-growth is quicker coming on post-harvest. Journey 204 is superior than the other alfalfa varieties I have grown." -Kent Ingram, Franklin, NE

When asked about his impressions of Journey Brand 204 Hybrid alfalfa, Kenneth Kennedy wrote, "It has 'excellent re-growth and excellent hay quality', plus 'excellent plant health and root system.' He went on to note,'with the quicker re-growth there are times when we get one more cutting which really adds to the tonnage. It seems that in drought years the Journey performs better. It must have a better root system.'" -Kenneth Kennedy, Sutherland, NE

"We planted Journey 204 on 12 acres dryland creek bottom ground in May 2005.  Harvest was limited first year.  In 2006 Journey was the first field harvested and the regrowth was excellent.  Much better than other varieties we have planted.  We ended up with 4 cutting this year.  All the all the bales were weighed and sold.  The field averaged 6.39 ton/acre.  We will be planting more Journey in 2007." -A&C Ranch, Curits Kalkowski, Verdel, NE
