Turf Grass
Our primary focus at the Arrow Seed Co., Inc. is to provide our customers with high quality seed of high quality varieties. Whether you are purchasing turf, pasture, or conservation grass we understand seed is a long-term investment meant to persist many years. We work closely with University personnel and seed certifying agencies, and use NTEP data to provide up to date and appropriate information and products to our customer. Please look over the descriptions of the turfgrass mixes listed below, a more detailed description of each mix may be found by clicking on the name. Five Star Kentucky bluegrass Blend
As a lawn grass Kentucky bluegrass has no equal, just as Five Star has no equal as a lawn blend. This is a blend of five of the best bluegrasses on the market today, selected and blended for superior color, texture, and density. Very dark green turf even at moderate levels of fertility. Exceptional disease resistance, and great cold tolerance. Requires irrigation for optimum performance. Seeding rate: 2 to 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties include: 25% Midnight Star, 25% Excursion, 20% Award, 15% America, and 15% Blue Velvet.

Countryside IV Kentucky bluegrass Blend
Workhorse blend of elite bluegrasses, great value for home lawns. Premium quality turf with deep green color, fine leaf texture, good density, and improved disease resistance. Moderately adapted to shade, with good genetic diversity. Will green-up early and performs best with irrigation, but performs good without irrigation. Seeding Rate: 2 to 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties include: 30% Arrow, 30% NuBlue, 25% America, and 15% Bedazzled.

Countryside IVR Turf Mixture
90% Countryside IV Blend plus 10% Perennial ryegrass for quicker establishment, and erosion protection. Seeding Rate: 2 to 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.

Fairway Blues Kentucky bluegrass Blend
A blend of the best low mowing tolerant bluegrasses available. These varieties have excelled in the NTEP Trials at 1/2 inch cut. In addition to the excellent adaptation to short mowing heights this blend will have very dark green color, high density, and great disease resistance. This blend is an excellent choice for golf courses, fairways, primary rough, high maintenance sports turf, and premium home lawns. Seeding Rate: 2 to 3 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: NuDestiny, America, Blue Velvet, Award and Midnight II Kentucky bluegrass.

E Z Green Perennial Ryegrass Blend
Four-way blend of top rated ryegrass varieties. Excellent for golf course fairways and sports fields. Adapted to low height of cut. A dense turf with dark green color, good disease resistance, and very fine texture. Edophyte enhanced varieties included. Good traffic and wear tolerance. Seeding Rate: 6 to 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: All Star2, Charismatic, Grand Slam, and Blazer 4 Perennial ryegrass.

E Z Green Plus Turf Mixture
This popular mix is 90% EZ Green Perennial ryegrass Blend plus 10% Fairway Blues Bluegrass Blend. Excellent for introducing new, low-mowing tolerant bluegrasses to predominantly ryegrass fairways. Seeding Rate: 6 to 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.

E Z Green GLSR Perennial Ryegrass Blend
This is a blend of three top fairway grade perennials with excellent Grey Leafspot Resistance.  They also retain the overall excellent quality rating expected from an Arrow Brand blend.  This blend is non-certified in 2007 because the varieties Fiesta 4 and Exacta II GLSR are experimental quality only.  All lots are 0% weed in 50 gram samples.

DuraTurf Tall Fescue Blend
A blend of elite dwarf and semi dwarf tall fescues. Well suited to most low maintenance lawn areas, including parks, home lawns, industrial sites, golf course rough, and cemeteries. Excellent wear tolerance and drought tolerance. Good choice for sports turf. Good cold tolerance, moderate green color, very good disease resistance. Seeding Rate: 6 to 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: DaVinci, 2nd Millennium, Titanium, and Avenger.

DuraTurf Plus 2 Turf Mixture
Includes BLADERUNNER Tall fescue, a new generation rhizomonous, turf-type tall fescue. This is a great mix for sports turf such as soccer and softball, or used as a durable park or home lawn turf. Consists of 88% Turf-type tall fescue, plus 7% Kentucky bluegrass for sod strength and improved damage recovery and 5% perennial ryegrass for quicker initial cover. Seeding rate: 6 to 10 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: Bladerunner, DaVinci, 2nd Millennium, Titanium, or AvengerTall fescues, Arrow Kentucky bluegrass, and All Star 2 Perennial ryegrass.

Sports Turf Mixture
Rapid recovery and high traffic tolerance highlight this aggressive mixture of 70% Kentucky bluegrass and 30% Perennial ryegrass and makes this mixture a great fit for football, baseball and soccer fields. Excellent summer and fall shoot density for optimum impact cushioning for player safety. Seeding Rate: 3 to 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties include:    Touchdown, Bedazzled, Arrow, and Award Kentucky bluegrass,   plus Charismatic and Blazer 4 Perennial ryegrass.

Contractor Turf Mixture
This 60% bluegrass, 40% perennial ryegrass mix will start quickly, then perform for many years. The bluegrasses forming the backbone of this mix are disease resistant, have good color, and medium leaf texture. The ryegrasses are improved turf-type for good initial quality and quick germination and establishment. Seeding Rate: 3 to 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: Arrow, America and NuBlue Kentucky bluegrass, plus Blazer 4 and Charismatic Perennial ryegrass.

Confidence Shade Turf Mixture
Quality turf for shaded conditions. Performs well with lower fertility levels. Best performance in shaded areas, with good resistance to powdery mildew and leaf spot. Seeding Rate: 4 to 6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: 60% Jasper II Creeping Red fescue, 20% All Star2 Perennial ryegrass, 20% America Kentucky bluegrass.

All Purpose Turf Mixture
Fine quality turf for use on home lawns, parks, and school grounds at an economical price. Very good shade tolerance with acceptable density and color. Good disease resistance. Widely adapted from sun to shade, irrigated to non-irrigated turf areas. Compatible with the Countryside IV Blend. Seeding Rate: 3 to 5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: 30% NuBlue and 30% Arrow Kentucky bluegrass, 30% Jasper II Creeping Red fescue, and 10% Perennial ryegrass.

Econo Turf Mixture
Best lawn mixture for areas where price is more important than quality. Better seed quality and grass varieties than typical discount blends. Seeding Rate: 4 to 6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: 30% Park and 25% NuBlue Kentucky bluegrass, and 25% All Star2 Perennial ryegrass, and 20% Creeping Red fescue.

Tuff 'N Nuff Turf Mixture
A mixture of short growing cool and warm season grasses. This hardy low maintenance mix will require little or no mowing depending on the site requirements. Used extensively for industrial and large low-maintenance turf-grass sites. Very drought tolerant, with low fertilizer requirements. Cool season grasses green up early, warm season grasses take over in the summer, and the cool season grasses finish well into the fall. Seeding Rate: 1 to 2 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Varieties may include: Quatro or Azay Sheep fescue, Annual ryegrass, Bad River Blue grama, and Cody buffalograss.
